WELCOME. I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
I am Leslie Kuykendall, an analytical and tenacious independent marketer, writer, and marketing consultant in Georgetown, TX, with marketing experience spanning both digital and traditional disciplines and tactics. Digital marketing, writing, and communications has been a staple of my lifelong career, which began as a journalist and reporter for the Waco Tribune Herald (a LOOOONG time ago!). I recently wrote a blog post about how I went from nosy news reporter to digital marketer. Feel free to start with the shorter summary before venturing to the blog!
I am excited to leverage my more than two decades of experience facilitating digital marketing, demand generation, website management, email marketing, and creating both written and visual content to help you reach your business goals - regardless of the size of your business.
My marketing expertise was gained by on-the-job experience, working with some really great leaders and role models who had faith in my ability, giving me the reigns to do what I thought best and to "figure it out." I was raised with the mantra, "You can do anything you put your mind to." The sum of my expertise was gained through roles in companies such as MEplusYOU (a Dallas interactive agency formerly called iMC2 acquired by Moroch Partners); Travelocity.com; Tuesday Morning, Inc.; Hoover's, a D&B Company; Adometry by Google; Compass Learning; Kasasa (when it was BancVue); and Xplore Technologies, alongside many smaller freelance and contract projects.
Throughout my career, I've been blessed in both full-time employment and my independent career to support a large variety of business types, from a forensic chemist in Canada to data powerhouse Dun & Bradstreet; from gargantuan Dell to tech start-ups and boutique organic pet supplies. When I was fortunate to enter the interactive space in 1997, I took deliberate steps to ensure hands-on, tactical experience and success in every tenet of digital marketing: SEO/SEM, display ads, marketing communications, database & email marketing, and later, B2B demand generation, content marketing, social media, and sales enablement through salesforce and marketing automation. While I enjoy working and handling all facets, my passion really lies around websites, content, and database & email marketing.
I live in Georgetown, TX, with my husband of 22 years, Sam, our beautiful and talented 16-year-old daughter, two rescued dogs, two ball pythons, and a leopard tortoise. In my spare time, I enjoy working on creative outlets such as writing, creating new pieces for my jewelry business, Harmony String & Stone (website under construction and coming soon!), gardening, cooking, and spending time with my daughter and husband while occasionally hitting the street on my Riedell quad speed skates.
